Legal Division
The Director of Legal Division, Carlos Silva Alliende, is Bachelor of Laws from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Master of Laws (LLM) from Georgetown University (USA). Has 13 years experience in the areas of administrative and regulatory law, legislative process, administrative procedures of control and sanction, as well as in judicial litigation. He served as attorney for the Ministry of Justice, Head of Regulatory Department of the Ministry of National Property, lawyer for the National Economic Prosecutor, Chief of Victims Program of the Ministry of Interior and Public Security, and as Chief of Legal Division of the Superintendency of the Environment. In office since July 1st, 2011.
His main responsabilities are:
- Study the law and the different regulations governing the casino industry, to interprete and recommend how such regulations shall be applied, to advise the Superintendent and the respective divisions in legal matters, to produce standards and instructions for casino operators and to participate in the writing and discussion of regulations and similar matters and to conduct the process of standardization of the gaming material.
