The Superintendence of Casinos supervises 18 casinos authorized under Act N°19.995 in every aspect regarding exploitation of games of chance with the purposes of bringing transparency to the industry, promoting its development and safeguarding customer rights.
Supervision and control is executed through regular supervision and extraordinary supervision.
Regular Supervision Regular Supervision refers to those activities defined in the Annual Supervision and control Plan, which are carried out onsite or from the Superintendence of Casinos office on a permanent basis. The Annual Supervision and control Plan includes risk analysis, user complaint trend analysis, detection of supervision requirements of internal customers, as well as evaluation of previous Supervision and control cycles. As a part of this Supervision and control process, the Superintendence of Casinos dictates instructions aiming to correct any deficiency observed and, in cases where infringement of current regulations is detected, initiates sanctioning actions. |
Extraordinary Supervision Extraordinary Supervision refers to supervising actions executed by the Superintendence of Casinos after an internal analysis and the reception of complaints; these are overall oriented to resolve controversies between the customers and the casino. Besides, these include specific supervising actions in coordination with other Government agencies.
